Computing companionship
Son Jeremy took the
photo above. The title is his, too. This was his second night with us. The
occasion was two days of his job taking him two states beyond his home base.
Jeremy, Husband Walter
and I were all three watching winter Olympic dramas interspersed with our
separate activities on our MacBook Pro laptops. It may not be old-fashioned
togetherness.
But it was satisfying
togetherness, shoulder to shoulder on our sofa, sharing exclamations about and
critiques of the Olympians’ performances and laughter about funny videos and other
items on the Internet.
My cup runneth
over!
And who says computers will drive families apart?? Sounds like a very pleasant evening and how nice you got to enjoy your son for a couple of days.
ReplyDeletefamily time in the year 2014... woo hoo. and now I have seen my first MAC... by the title i thought you were eating dinner at McDonalds. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. I am grinning.
ReplyDeleteDavid and I sometimes do this too. When my daughter and grans visit we are all typing away!
ReplyDeleteHaha, welcome to the 21st century. I think it's great y'all are doing this together. Tell your son he came up with a fantastic title. What a fun post!
ReplyDeleteFamily time! Gotta' love it :)
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteLast Sunday after dinner the whole family was "watching" tv and on the computer, phone, ipad etc. It was quite the scene.
Isn't it fun when the family can be together, just breathing in the familiarity of Family?
It's all about being prepared to go with a new way of being together. Great!

Connections are good no matter how they happen.
ReplyDeleteIndeed a new kind of family togetherness. We've also found the Skype connection with the grandchildren far away in Arizona neat! :)
