New wheels

We retired our old burgundy van in November 2018 after almost 20 years and 294,000 miles of fun travel and camping trips. In December we introduced a new van to the Smoky Mountains along with lots of picturesque snow and ice.

Hubby was eager to see snow from the Blue Ridge Parkway. In our enthusiasm we missed (or ignored?) the “barricade ahead” signs. But there they were, two van-lengths to the left and two to the right. We turned onto the off ramp. Mr. Snow-Lover stopped, took my phone and hopped out to document beautiful, pristine snow.

In the next instant my enjoyment disappeared and I was shrieking like a demented hyena. “It’s moving; it’s moving!”  He hopped back in. The van stopped three feet beyond the icy patch. Hubby says three inches. He got back out and took more pictures. In the van I made noises again. Laughing my head off. Maybe a bit of hysteria?

He kept me off icy surfaces for the rest of our trip.

A misbehaving handbag

Son J recently treated us to breakfast at one of our favorite spots. We enjoyed catching up, sharing lots of laughter and consuming southern cooking. Upon returning home I realized my purse had picked up a hitchhiker.

That purse evidently has a magnetic personality with a wide streak of larceny!
