Linda's rehabilitation begins

Wife Linda was moved to Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula, MS on Friday, April 29, 2011 after a seven-day stay at Ocean Springs Hospital.
She would have been moved sooner, but a room didn't open up until Thursday.
The stroke she suffered was from a burst blood vessel in her head. She was mainly affected on the left side of her body.
She has good motors skills on her right side and has been on the cell phone a lot during the past week.
On Friday, during rehabilitation, she was able, with a little balancing help from hospital assistants, to "walk" a short distance on her own power. I heard that it wasn't that pretty of a sight, but progress none-the less.
Thanks for your concern and we appreciate your prayers.

Hubby Walter

  1. thank you Walter for the update. my prayers are with you both.

  2. Thanks, Walter, for keeping us in mind. Give Linda my best wishes and a hug for healing. She is missed, but should take time healing and getting back to the daily grind.

    Strength to you both. :)

  3. Thanks so much, Walter, for keeping us posted in the midst of what must be a busy and worrisome time for you. Tell Linda to get both her hands working so she can get back to blogging.

  4. Thanks for the update, Walter. Please give Linda my best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

  5. Walter please give her a hug and a smile for me & tell her that I (and all of her fellow bloggers) will be glad to have her back when she's feeling up to it.

Till then here's to a mix of daily progress (and rest) for her (and yourself)....

It's hard to know which is more difficult - being the one going thru the crisis - reeling from the challenges while fighting back to health step by step. Or being the one watching, helping, wanting desperately to protect, wanting to 'make everything/anything better'....

Thanks for the updates and warmest wishes to you both.

  6. Walter, thanks for keeping us updated. Best of luck to you and to Linda for a speedy recovery. Therapy in this day and age is remarkable in what they can accomplish.
