Forgetfulness

I am succumbing to forgetfulness.

My blogposts may become fiction . . . unintentionally. Fortunately, I have a live-in copy editor who still has a sharp memory.

The post day before yesterday would have been wildly inaccurate if Hubby hadn't reacted to my plea that he read my draft. As May West (I think) said, "Getting old ain't for sissies."

I hope as long as I can see humor in daily life, I won't become a sissy!

Blessings to all you out there who are facing challenges due to age, changing relationships, health and other bumps large and small in your life.

And thank you dear blogging friends for helpful and encouraging, comments and for posts on your blogs that enrich my life with humor, wisdom and new ideas for coping.

  2. Old age is definitely not for sissies, but like you say, it is helpful to be able to see the humor in life.

  3. My memory is worse by the day. so far I have left my coffee in the microwave, left it in the cup on the counter not in the microwave, put a bowl of oatmeal in the microwave WITH the coffee I left in there. that is just the coffee memory. Last night while putting new coffee in for the next moning, i had to pur out the last cup from yesterday because I forgot to even pour it and drink it. this is bad, because I LOVE coffee. now that you have told your story, I am wondering what I have posted that I don't know about, since no one edits mine for me. My old friend always said Suck it up Buttercup, it is what it is. I am trying, truly I am

  4. It's our sense of humor that can save us many times. You just "gotta" laugh sometimes.
My memory is like swiss cheese a lot of the time.
Getting old definitely isn't for sissies.
Love this blog post Linda. You are a WordSmith.

  5. You are a blessing to us...thankfully Roger has that sense of humor and it has sure saved the day. Though for a while this summer he was not teasing at all and that is a sure sign he does not feel good.
